Mexico Project
This project involves the improvement of an existing well and rainwater harvesting to provide clean water all year round, in a village called Ejido Domingo in Central Mexico.

Mountain Village of Ejido Domingo
Ejido Domingo is a Mountain Village in San Luis Potosi State in Mexico, with a population of 300 residents. The village has schools up to junior high level. Women usually stay home and the men work the land for $2-$3 per day income. The closest town is called Tamazunchale, which is one hour away and has 10,000 residents. The main source of water is from a river, which also supplies a well. During the dry season the well dries up. The river frequently overflows during the raining season and floods nearby land. Once the river level is low, the well gets dry. The river water is contaminated, as the inhabitants of the village bathe, wash clothes in the river and cattle graze at the side of the river. The villagers boil the river water to drink.
