Professor Attahir B. Yusuf is a distinguished academic, energy industry professional, and respected public servant with extensive experience spanning academia, university leadership, and the petroleum sector. He previously served in senior technical and executive management roles at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), where he contributed to national energy development initiatives, strategic planning, and operational oversight within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. His tenure in the energy sector strengthened his expertise in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and large-scale institutional management.
Biography
In academia, Professor Yusuf has held several senior academic and leadership positions, including serving as Professor, Dean, Provost, and Interim President in Nigeria and Overseas. In these roles, he provided strategic direction, strengthened academic programs, supported institutional growth, and advanced governance and accountability frameworks.
He has taught and conducted research at prominent universities across multiple regions, in Nigeria; the West Indies; the South Pacific, Fiji, New Zealand; and the UAE. His international academic experience reflects a global perspective and a deep commitment to educational excellence, research advancement, and cross-cultural engagement.
